This Lafayette Hotel wedding in San Diego, CA was full of personality, charm, and all the best kinds of offbeat fun. The couple started their day getting ready at the Lafayette, which has one of the most eclectic, retro-chic interiors of any hotel in the city. With bold patterns, art deco vibes, and just the right amount of awesome vintage weirdness, it was the perfect backdrop for this laid back and stylish couple.
We headed over to nearby Balboa Park for their first look and ceremony, which gave us those dreamy natural light portraits and soft greenery to contrast with the vibrant indoor spaces at the Lafayette. After they tied the knot surrounded by their closest people, it was back to the Lafayette Hotel for a reception that was anything but boring.
From the champagne tower that the couple poured after toasts to the live band that kept the energy up all night, this Lafayette Hotel wedding was a fun and energetic celebration. The whole event was designed to feel like them—bold, stylish, and full of joy.
The Lafayette is such a fun and offbeat choice for a wedding venue in San Diego. Between the vintage decor, bold color palette, and unique spaces (like the bowling alley!), it gives couples the chance to really make the day their own while keeping everyone close and comfortable.
Speaking of the bowling alley… this couple kicked off their weekend with a welcome party at “The Gutter,” the Lafayette’s own bowling space! I’ll be writing a whole post next all about welcome parties—featuring photos from that event—so stay tuned!
And in the meantime, if you want to check out more inspo for weddings at a San Diego hotel with vintage charm, take a look at this wedding at The Guild Hotel in downtown San Diego.
