Had the privilege of photographing Katie and Chase and their tender kisses and warm embraces at The Inside Workshop hosted by Laurken Kendall…if you don’t know now you know. They met at a Country Bar in Seattle, WA through Chase’s sister. After dating for a year and a half Chase put a ring on it., good thing he did, because Katie is stunnnnnnniiinnnnnnggggg. Her eyes and smile just radiate beauty.
Chase proposed on a boat, surrounds by family and friends…tears streaming down her face, she said yes. They love Lord of the Rings and Spongebob and they both have a strong love for the Jesus.
At the workshop some 3 big take-aways were:
- I am a photographer and an artist. I need to remind myself that my job is an art form and I need to treat it that way. Shooting weddings all the time, and doing the same things over and over makes it feel more and more like a job and not an artistic project. Obviously I have to meet expectations that my clients have but over the past year I haven’t really stepped out my box creatively at all.
- I am always gonna lean one way towards editing no matter what. I can’t help what I’m drawn to…neither can all of us really. I think overtime that style get’s refined and more mature but overall we don’t change.
- Joe and I going to buy a house in WA and live in the forest and raise little rascals together. I know the rain is annoying but the sun shines all damn day over here and all I want to do is wear jeans, vans or boots and wear a beanie for longer than one month out of the year. Is that too much to ask San Diego? Also rent should be cheaper…and gas…and everything else.
BUT ANYYYWAYYYYSSS….You check out the photos…I learned so much my heart is gonna explode and Katie and Chase are so cute and…just start scrolling and you’ll see.
Wishing you many blessings Katie and Chase!
Thanks for being so amazing with like 10 cameras in your face guys!
