Abby and Morgen had their backyard wedding bash in San Diego, California, at a close friend’s family home. These two are the actual definition of high school sweethearts. They met in high school, and their first date was at Souplantation. So there you have it… Souplantation is key if you want to marry the person you take there eventually! But seriously, these two were completely meant to be, and everyone could feel that during this amazing wedding day.

The venue was a friend’s house and the whole property was like Cars Land and Thunder Mountain combined. It was so random and super fun to photograph! The wedding design was the perfect mix of rustic, western, and elegant. Some of the most unique touches I’ve ever seen at a wedding (and I’ve been to a lot) were sprinkled throughout this day. The wedding flowers were kept simple and neutral, and the awesome backyard wedding venue and those unique touches were really able to shine through.

On top of the day being magical, the bride and groom looked it, too. Abby wore a strapless, lace, mermaid-style wedding dress, and she looked gorrrrrrgeous. Morgen wore a simple gray groom suit, and he looked wonderful as well! Instead of a first look, the pair had a first touch/first prayer. The couple’s outdoor wedding ceremony was perfect. They wrote their own vows, and that is always so sweet to hear. The pair had their first dance to Yours by Russel Dickerson, and then they and their closest friends and family danced the night away under the twinkling lights of the backyard reception. 

This was a perfect wedding day full of so many unique and personal touches, and I loved every minute of capturing it.
