Nothing beats the intimacy of a backyard wedding, and this San Diego backyard elopement was just as special as ever. Sarah and Andrej have already been together for 10 years, so the main excitement of this event was the fact that all their friends and family would finally be together in the same place at the same time!
This couple was so much fun, and their wedding day reflected their vivacious and full-of-life personalities perfectly. First, the couple got ready inside various parts of the home, and then they did a first look outside. Sarah wore a beautiful a-line wedding dress (which she later traded in for a white jumpsuit for the reception!) Andrej wore a light gray groom suit. They make a stunning bride and groom, and the first look wedding photos turned out so precious.
The backyard wedding ceremony was intimate, cozy, and relaxed. Tropical florals and lush greenery decorated the space, and the sun was beaming down on the couple as they said their “I dos.” During cocktail hour, the space was transformed into an outdoor wedding reception. Also during cocktail hour, we took golden hour bride and groom portraits on the steps of the home.
The reception space was just as cozy and welcoming, with string lights that hung over the entire backyard, more tropical wedding flowers, and a terracotta, pink, and sage green color palette. As the evening progressed, everyone moved into the home where they danced the night away. And I mean literally, they were lit for pretty much the entire night. This San Diego wedding was so much fun, and such a joy to capture.
Thank you to this amazing couple for letting me be a part of their special day!
