2 days after Christmas Joe and I traveled to the UK for ten days. We met one of my closest friends who had already been traveling there when we arrived. We landed at Gatwick airport and then immediately drove 6 hours to the northern eastern part of Wales. One the way we ate at a terrible Mexican restaurant and I had to ask Mariah to pull over on the tiniest street so I could puke. The time difference and morning sickness hit me not hard but medium-ish on the trip. Wales was probably one of my favorite spots on the whole trip. We visited Conwy castle the next day and it was stunning! The view of the water and the city was beautiful, I could have photographed it all day. If you like any of these photos and want to hang them in your own home, I had added them to my
Baby Paul was working the camera hardddd the entire trip! And Joe and I enjoyed Great and King so much. They made us laugh, and made us so excited for our own little peanut!
I am obsessed with the light in these glass houses! I cannot wait to print these and hang them in the house!
I know we have all these desert plants in Cali but they just look so much better in this greenhouse!
The view from the top of Edinburgh Castle was incredible!! The city was so gritty and the winter weather was such a mood.
By far one of my favorite photos from the trip! His face is the best!
We found shetland ponies on our way from Edinburgh to York and I fell in love with me. I loved how their bangs swooped over their eyes.
These two snuggle bugs were cracking me…basically they were the Larry and Clyde of shetland ponies.
This is the cathedral in York! It took over 800 years to finish being built!!
After York it was another 3 hour drive to the Costswolds. The cotswolds is basically a cluster of little villages outside the city of London. It’s quintessential England in my eyes.
I loved getting to travel with this girl! She drove the entire trip, cooked for us everyday and was a mighty rummy component!
People thought we were nuts when we told them we were traveling with 3 kids, but they are the most wonderful kids and we enjoyed their company so so much.
Joe get’s the credit for this adorable photo of me.
As if my hormones weren’t raging enough, Joe’s affection for baby Paul was so sweet to watch on the trip.
I love how the dead leaves are encroaching on the live ones. The color contrast and how it’s split down the middle was so interesting to me.
These two photos just sum up winters in the UK. Spooky and cloudy, cold and blue. Beautiful and dull all at once.
After the Costswolds we went to Canterbury and we had the cutest little garden at our airbnb.
Couldn’t resist buying these adorable little sheep slippers in Edinburgh! I can’t wait to put them on our little peanut next winter:)
[…] What better place to have a family photo session with a mama and her sons than a bowling alley? Mariah and her sweet boys are long-time friends of mine. We’ve known each other for years, and we even adventured to the UK together last year (before Covid hit, of course.) You can check out those adventure photos here. […]
